GOD of goodness and mercy, we commend to Thy all-powerful protection our home, our family, and all that we possess.
Bless us all as Thou didst bless the holy family of Nazareth.
O Jesus, our most holy Redeemer, by the love with which Thou didst become man in order to save us, by the mercy through which Thou didst die for us upon the cross, we entreat Thee to bless our home, our family, our household.
Preserve us from all evil and from the snares of men; preserve us from lightning and hail and fire, from flood and from the rage of the elements; preserve us from Thy wrath, from all hatred and from the evil intentions of our enemies, from plague, famine, and war.
Let not one of us die without the holy sacraments. Bless us, that we may always openly confess our faith which is to sanctify us, that we may never falter in our hope, even amid pain and affliction, that we may ever grow in love for Thee and in charity toward our neighbor.

The Agnus Dei Planner caught my eye as I’ve been looking for a planner that I could begin another annual liturgical planner in. This one would be lovely on a desk or on display in a prominent place in the home. Its hard cover is durable and lovely with the Lamb of God design.
It has a spiral inner core which allows ease of turning pages and less damage to pages. The space to write in each day is perfect for keeping track of key things. It is not necessarily a planner to track all of one’s daily tasks or full daily rhythm.
The colored images of the saints are beautiful portrayals that help to capture their dignity andraise up our minds & hearts as good art should. I’m so excited to use this planner for my liturgical planning and continue to use it as a reference throughout the years — not how it is intended but how it will best fit my needs.
The JMJ weekly planner has a wonderful cover — classy leather-like with embossed JMJ and year. It also has a band to keep it closed when not in use. It is simple and sleek. It is elegant and can definitely be appreciated by men and women. It has hours listed on each line to be used for hourly tasks or appointments. But it could also be used as a journal or habit tracker. It can easily be used on a desk or thrown in a bag. I think it would make an excellent gift for anyone —Confirmation, graduation, birthday or just because!

St. Michael’s Lent
St. Michael’s Lent is upon us!
It is not a tradition of the Church, perse. But it was one of the many periods of fasting & prayer in which St. Francis observed throughout the year.
This second Lent of sorts starts on the Feast of the Assumption and ends on the Feast of St. Michael.
During this time, he would fast, abstain, and engage in penances and mortifications to discipline himself, acquire the virtues, and honor God. In fact, it was while he was engaged in this “St. Michael’s Lent” that he received the stigmata.
To emulate St. Francis and make the 40-day St. Michael’s Lent in his honor, in honor of Our Lady and St, Michael the Archangel, and for the purpose of consecrating yourself to St. Michael on his feast day, do the following:
• Obey the precepts of the Church, including attending Mass and going to Confession as needed.
• Fast and abstain, as you would during Lent, from the Feast of the Assumption on August 15 to Michaelmas (the Feast of St. Michael the Archangel) on September 29 or otherwise make some daily sacrifice to God on those days.
• Pray the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel, all of the supplications and accomanying prayers (the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be), and the Litany to St. Michael every day from the Assumption to Michaelmas.
• On Michaelmas, make the Act of Consecration to St. Michael the Archangel.
Note that the period between the Assumption and Michaelmas consists of 46 calendar days, but, as in the pre-Easter Lent, Sundays and holy days don’t count and aren’t penitential, so this devotion consists of 40 days’ worth of partial abstinence and fasting. – Fish Eaters

Catholic Life Planner
A simplified morning routine is where I’m at, currently. I’ve been led to less — less devotions, less books, and overall less distractions. But none of that has to equate to less Faith, love, or spiritual growth. In fact, it has been my experience that the opposite is true — a deeper Faith, greater love, and more fervent prayer life.

I cannot fulfill my vocation without the complete transformation of my soul by the working of your Grace within me. On my knees before the great multitude of heavenly witnesses, I offer myself, soul and body, to Thee, Eternal Spirit of God. I adore the brightness of Thy purity, the unerring keenness of Thy justice, and the might of Thy love.
Thou art the Strength and Light of my soul. In Thee I live and move and am. I desire never to grieve Thee by unfaithfulness to grace, and I pray with all my heart to be kept from the smallest sin against Thee.
