On this anniversary of Roe v. Wade, January 22, 1973…

I’m thankful for His grace to say YES to life.  I was sixteen when I became pregnant.  I told no one until I was 7.5 months pregnant.  I was full of fear and shame for my poor choice.  He showered His mercy upon me and I was able to bring a beautiful healthy girl into the world.  My parents and close loved ones also said YES to life by loving me and supporting me through it all. 

My husband, then boyfriend, stood by me.  Together, we have six children on earth and five whom we pray are with Our Lord.  My daughter, now eighteen years old, is in Washington DC today marching for LIFE.  She is the PRO-LIFE GENERATION!

DEO GRATIAS!

To love and serve the unborn
And to awaken our world to know
That the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion.
Fill us with love, bring us peace, and let
us share your life forever.

WC Walk for LIFE 2013

We walked in reparation for the sins that have been committed against the unborn, all involved in abortion, and other end-of-life issues.  We walked to be a witness for Christ!

Oh God, who is the Beginning and the End, hear our prayers as we cry out to you to end the merciless shedding of innocent blood in our nation and throughout the world. Through death you have conquered death and through your life we experience eternal and everlasting life. Cause life to spring forth in the hearts of all people and bring forth a love and respect for life that will dominate our culture.  May your kingdom and church apprehend and overtake the culture of death that has prevailed through deceit and selfishness; may the Seed of the woman crush the head of the serpent through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

IMG_5650-001Praise God that we were able to walk as a family for the 2013 Walk for Life – West Coast.  It was a first for the boys.  Thankfully, there wasn’t much opposition (seen) so the littles were all spared from graphic visuals and language.

Rose joined up with friends from our parish and walked with TAC.

I must note that it was much more of a sacrifice for me (at 37 weeks) than I had anticipated.  Dad and the kids were great support.  ALL FOR!

We had more pictures from the actual walk and entire day but my photographer and her assistant had a mishap with the camera memory while on our way home. A story not worth mentioning.

Novena Prayer for Life to Our Lady of Guadalupe
Oh Mary, Mother of Jesus and Mother of Life,
We honor you as Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Thank you for pointing us to Jesus your Son,
The only Savior and hope of the world.
Renew our hope in him,
That we all may have the courage to say Yes to life,
And to defend those children in danger of abortion.
Give us your compassion
To reach out to those tempted to abort,
And to those suffering from a past abortion.
Lead us to the day when abortion
Will be a sad, past chapter in our history.
Keep us close to Jesus, the Life of the World,
Who is Lord forever and ever. Amen.

A Family Walking for Life

Youth for Life

Dad arrived early with the girls.  They were blessed to see Fr. Frank Provone.  He graciously accepted Dad’s invitation for a picture.
I tended to the life that I have been gifted.  We had all intended to walk as a family but God had other plans.  Dad and I received an early wake-up call, Dragonfly.  He was crying hysterically and sitting in pool of vomit.  We agreed that I would stay home with Dragonfly and Papi (who had not fully recovered from his cold). My season to Walk for Life will come, for now I will cherish the time I have to nurture the lives that He has given me.

This was Sweetie’s first year on the walk.  It was perfect timing, as she is preparing for her First Holy Communion.

Rose noted that this year’s turn out was twice as large as the previous years.  She also noted that this year’s opposition was crude,  aggressive and outright diabolic.  It was clear to all my children that there are many who are lost in the ways of this world and much prayer is needed to protect against the lion who is prowling.
Here is a brief reflection from Sparkles.

We pray to help build up the culture of life, in whatever way He calls us to.  God willing, this will include walking as a complete family in 2013.
