Sacred Heart of Jesus Picture Frame

June 30, 2011 by Lena {JOYfilledfamily} Filed Under: Crafts, Sacred Heart of Jesus

Sacred Heart of Jesus Picture Frame
Kimberly’s creations were my inspiration.
Supplies:
  • picture frame
  • wooden heart
  • wooden cross
  • scissors
  • hot-glue gun
  • orange vellum or construction paper
  • gold paint pen
  • wood burning tool (optional)
  • red paint
  • paint brush

Directions:

  1. use the wood burning tool to make the crown of thorns on the heart
  2. paint the heart – red.
  3. color/paint the wooden cross – gold
  4. cut a flame from the orange vellum
  5. write, with the gold paint pen, the desired inscription on the frame
  6. adhere the cross, flame, and heart to the frame, using a hot glue gun

You can insert a holy card or picture.  We decided to use our frames for prayer intentions.  We use a dry-erase pen to write our prayer intentions on the glass.

Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Home

front tileBaby G was baptized on the First Friday of June – June 4, 2010.  I created a Sacred Heart of Jesus keepsake for all families who shared in the blessed ceremony of Baptism, The Churching of Women and Consecration of an Infant to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

We use these tiles in our home as an alternative to pricey statues.  We rotate them for feast days and the Liturgical year.  They are also a great gift for Godparents.

Sacred%20Heart%20of%20Jesus-1 "Devotion to the Sacred Heart is a wonderful historical expression of the Church’s piety for Christ, her Spouse and Lord: it calls for a fundamental attitude of conversion and reparation, of love and gratitude, apostolic commitment and dedication to Christ and his saving work."
