A Sweet Consolation

February 15, 2011 by Lena {JOYfilledfamily} Filed Under: Consolation, Homeschooling, Rose

I’m slowly making progress with my spiritual plan, regaining order and trying to get fit.  I have committed my journey to Jesus through Mary.  My husband, children and friend/accountability partner have all helped me along the way.  ALL FOR!

I’ve experienced some setbacks which have brought me to my knees.  My most recent plea to Him was to give me a boost so that I could continue to move forward on my journey.

Here is what He gave me.

JOY journal homeschooling

I found this note buried in a box far removed in the garage.  I can’t even recall why I was digging in the boxes.

This was a note from Rose, written when she was only 7 years old.  She was in third grade and it was my first year homeschooling.  We’ve been homeschooling ever since.

DEO GRATIAS!

2011 Motto

Be Charitable. love others, especially our family the way He loves us.

Be Useful. serve always.

Be Gentle. have the loving heart and hand of Mary.

Be Joyful. stay rooted in the true JOY – JESUS.  share the JOY with all.

Forget about yourself. die to self, live for God alone.

JOY Journal

February 15, 2011 by Lena {JOYfilledfamily} Filed Under: 1000 Gifts, JOY Journal, Meditation

I have been graced to be stripped.  I was drawn close to Him.  I was given the grace to see each day as my last.  To find true JOY in all things around and within.
I have been slowly learning how to share this internal JOY with others, especially my family.  I fail daily but find His grace is sufficient to move forward and try again.
My gifts are not for me alone.  I desire to share with all.  My most recent motivation was found here and here.
This gratitude journal is not for me alone.  It is for my children, my husband, and for all who desire to find Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
This is my gift of love to you, from Him above.
"To me Jesus is the Life I want to live, the Light I want to reflect, the Way to the Father, the Love I want to express, the JOY I want to share, the Peace I want to sow around me.  Jesus is my everything."  ~Bl. Mother Teresa of  Calcutta

Candy Rosary

February 15, 2011 by Lena {JOYfilledfamily} Filed Under: GFG, Papi, Rosary, St. Valentine's Day

We prayed our rosary today at 12 pm for the intentions of the unborn and innocent.   candy rosaryWe decided to use Sweethearts candies for the Hail Mary’s.  Each child placed a candy in their dish upon the completion of a prayer.candy rosary girls(sweetie and sparkles dressed themselves for school.)

WARNING:  This candy rosary is not intended for children 3 and under.

Papi had a meltdown several meltdowns.

The children only received a candy when they were actively prayed.  They were not allowed to eat the candies until the completion of the rosary.  Papi did not think the rules were just.  He did eventually recover.  Praise be to God!
